Wuhan, known as "Jiangcheng", has become an ideal place for triathlon events due to its rich waters and pleasant environment. On September 15, the 2024 China Wuhan Triathlon Open started in the morning glow, coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the schedule was rendered with unique Jiangxia characteristics. This event is sponsored by the Asian Triathlon Federation and the China Triathlon Association, guided by the Hubei Provincial Sports Bureau, undertaken by the Wuhan Municipal Sports Bureau and the Wuhan Jiangxia District People's Government, co-organized by the Wuhan Social Sports Guidance Center and the Wuhan Jiangxia District Culture and Tourism Bureau (Sports Bureau), and operated exclusively by Sino-Olympic Sports Industry Co., Ltd. The competition was held on two days, with the 14th being the 2024 Wuhan Triathlon Asian Cup, the 2024 Wuhan National Triathlon Champions Cup Series and the U Series Champions Cup, and the 15th being the 2024 China Wuhan Triathlon Open and the 2024 Wuhan National Triathlon Champions Cup Series and the U Series Champions Cup Mixed Relay Competition of the Excellent Group, Youth Group and Youth Group.

At 7:00 in the morning, with a crisp starting gun, the men's age group players set off first and jumped into Liangzi Lake one after another. The athletes in the lake were vigorous and moved forward bravely. The competitors staged a battle of speed in the rippling Liangzi Lake, one after another, and after completing the 1.5-kilometer swimming competition, they quickly rushed to the conversion area to change the item and started the cycling stage competition.
The cycling track of this event is beautiful and relatively open and flat along the way. The competitors who participated in the excellent group competition yesterday also mentioned that this is a very standard fast track, which is very suitable for results. But the 40km riding distance and the warm temperature of Wuhan are testing the athletes, not only the test of riding skills, but also the tempering of their firm belief.
In the final running stage, the athletes did their best to sprint towards the finish line and give full play to the ironman spirit! In the end, in the fierce competition of the athletes, the first place in the men's full age group was won by Liu Debin from the Dongguan Triathlon Sports Association, who scored 2 hours, 05 minutes and 50 seconds; Wang Shijiang from Shanghai Happy Triathlon Club won the first place in the men's half age group with a time of 1 hour, 08 minutes and 12 seconds. The women's competition was equally exciting. Gao Jiaxi from Qingdao Laotie Triathlon Sports Club became the first female competitor to cross the line today, winning the first place in the women's full age group with a time of 2 hours, 29 minutes and 05 seconds; Yu Ying from Shanghai Happy Triathlon Club won the first place in the women's half age group with a time of 1 hour, 22 seconds and 55 seconds.
The 2024 China Wuhan Triathlon Open has made bold innovations in the competition system, adding two relay groups for riding and running. This novel competition system not only enriches the competition content, but also brings more fun to the audience.
On the afternoon of September 15, the mixed relay competition of the excellent group, the youth group and the junior group also kicked off, with a total of 22 teams participating in the competition. The mixed relay event became a highlight of the competition with its tight schedule and fierce competition. This event not only tested the individual ability of each competitor, but also emphasized teamwork and tacit cooperation. In the end, the Shandong 361 ° Ironman team won the first place in the mixed relay group of the excellent group, the Fujian triathlon youth team won the first place in the youth group mixed relay group, and the Hong Kong triathlon youth team won the first place in the youth group mixed relay group.
