/PRZWT/ On February 24th, the Jia Pei Ruby Kiwi fruit arrived in Shanghai, China for the first time via air transportation and was successfully connected and stored in the Wan Wei Shanghai Lingang Cold Chain Park.

This is the first time that the Jiapea kiwis from New Zealand have been launched during the Chinese Spring Festival period. It is reported that the first batch of air-freighted kiwis of the Jiapea Ruby variety weighs approximately 92 tons, and they will arrive in China successively within a week starting from February 24th.

In the 2026 production season, Zespri is expected to supply 5.3 million cases of Ruby Kiwifruit to the global market, with approximately 2 million cases destined for the Greater China region. Among these, up to 26,000 cases will be transported by air to meet the growing demand for premium fresh fruits from consumers in the Greater China region.

As a strategic partner of Jiapei, Wanwei Logistics has been collaborating with Jiapei since 2016. They have gradually established industry benchmarks in the integrated fresh fruit supply chain, including cold storage, quality inspection, ripening, automated sorting and packaging, and retail packaging. In January this year, the two parties signed a new round of strategic cooperation agreement, initiating the second decade of cooperation and continuously providing high-quality nutritious fresh fruits to Chinese consumers.

This time, the Jiapei Ruby Kiwi fruit was warehoused. Wanwei Shanghai Lingang Cold Chain Park efficiently completed the warehousing process, facilitating the fresh launch of Jiapei kiwis in domestic supermarkets and e-commerce platforms, and bringing them to the dining tables of consumers across the country.

Throughout the entire process of warehousing, quality inspection, and outbound delivery, Wanwei Shanghai Lingang Cold Chain Park provides professional services to ensure the journey of kiwifruit in China:

Efficient connection: From Pudong International Airport to the park, the journey takes only about 40 minutes by car. The warehouse staff scan the barcodes on the pallets and the WMS system automatically allocates the optimal storage location, achieving "zero waiting" for the goods to be stored.

Precise temperature control: Wanwei cold storage maintains a constant temperature of 1℃, with temperature fluctuations precisely controlled within ±0.5℃, ensuring the freshness of the ruby red kiwi fruits on the branches.

Strict quality inspection: The quality control personnel at Wanwei Park conduct batch-by-batch tests on the fruit's hardness, temperature and sugar content to ensure that every kiwi meets the highest edible standards.

Fast circulation: In Wanwei Cold Storage, the "first in, first out" principle is followed to optimize the workflow, reducing the storage time of fresh fruits and ensuring the quality when they are ready for sale.

As Jiapei Ruby Kiwifruit kicks off the fresh fruit season of the new year, Wanwei Logistics has made adequate preparations to welcome the arrival of a large quantity of kiwifruit in the future.

From New Zealand farms to Chinese dining tables, Wanwei will continue to provide technology-driven cold chain services, enabling more consumers to taste the "fruits of the earth" from all over the world at the earliest possible time.
